Our teachers know their students and work with them to help them realise their potential as learners. Our focus on authentic learning and authentic assessment ensures that we challenge our students to grow in their learning and achieve their personal best.
Throughout our community of Sydney Catholic schools, we have shown high performance of our students in measures such as NAPLAN and the HSC.
At St Francis Xavier’s Catholic Primary School, we set high expectations for every learner and provide rigorous, challenging learning experiences that ignite curiosity, imagination, and creativity. Our students work collaboratively with their peers and teachers to actively explore their world, developing the confidence to take risks and recognising mistakes as valuable opportunities for growth.
Our teaching and learning programs are purposefully designed to recognise each student’s unique strengths, needs, and interests. Using data, student voice, and ongoing assessment, teachers tailor learning experiences that challenge, support, and extend every learner. This personalised approach ensures students develop the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to thrive as lifelong learners and active contributors to their community.
We continue to demonstrate strong growth and excellence in NAPLAN across both Year 3 and Year 5, reflecting our commitment to high-quality teaching and continuous improvement. Our Gifted and Talented students excel in a wide range of academic competitions, including the Maths Olympiad, Chess Competitions, University of NSW ICAS Assessments, Mathematics Challenge Days, WriteOn Competitions, Sydney Catholic Schools Christmas Story Art Competitions and RoboCup Junior.
Beyond the classroom, many of our students achieve success in sport and the performing arts, proudly representing our school at Sydney Catholic Schools regional events and through the Amadeus Music Program. Their achievements highlight the breadth of opportunities available at St Francis Xavier’s and our dedication to nurturing the whole child.
